The boutique frequently features “newcomer” designers who’s fashions are known for their femininity, romance, or the unusual.

The goals of Laura’s Bridal Collection and that of the entire staff is that every bride who enters the boutique has a unique experience and chooses a gown many will remember long after the wedding has passed.

Founded in 1938, Laura’s Bridal Collection is a full service, couture bridal salon located in Shelby Township, Michigan. With 65 years of dedicated family ownership, Laura’s has earned an impeccable reputation for its outstanding service to 20,000 brides. The salon attends to every detail, thereby earning most customers by personal referral. Laura’s is also known for its selection of handpicked, “Affordable Couture” gowns and accessories, its meticulously trained staff, and its elegant but comfortable ambience.
Third-generation owner Nancy Downes , who is personally involved in every aspect of the business, currently operates the boutique. She believes in getting to know each and every bride she services and her individual needs. Nancy grew up in her family’s business, first working for her mother Laura and then later as a young adult.
Downes’ mother and aunts began their career in the bridal business in Brooklyn, New York in 1938. Upon moving to Detroit they opened their first store on Detroit’s near east side and enjoyed instant success.
